The AACR Roast for Research

Doing our bit to help find a cure for cancer – The AACR Roast for Research

Going the extra mile for the greater good, we at Bean2Bean Coffee Co. in partnership with the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) launched our collaboration roast, the “AACR Roast for Research”, to raise funds for cancer research.

Based in Philadelphia, the AACR is widespread across 129 countries and has a member base of over 50,000 members. They are the first and largest cancer research organization dedicated to accelerating the conquest of cancer. AACR has priorities fostering research in cancer and other related biomedical sciences while promoting education and training towards diagnosis and treatment.

Bean2Bean’s Role

Funding is one of the critical barriers that delay developing a possible cancer cure and adequate treatment. According to the Association of Clinical Oncology, every year, at least 16.9 million people live beyond their disease thanks to donations and federal funding.

Thanks to fruitful discussions with AACR, we were able to launch a roast focused on helping the AACR. With the launch of our AACR Roast for Research, a Brazilian coffee from the Minas Gerais region, we at Bean2Bean were able to bring in a new source of funds to the AACR. We pledged a portion of our proceeds to the AACR from every AACR Roast for Research bag sold between October 1st, 2021 through January 31st, 2022.

“I am excited that the AACR is partnering with Bean2Bean to launch the “AACR Roast for Research” to help raise important funds to support our mission to prevent and cure all cancers. This support means a lot to all of us at the AACR, and we are enthusiastic about raising more awareness in the Philadelphia area”

-Mitch Stoller, the Chief Phianthophic Officer and Vice President of Development at the AACR Foundation

How We’re Making a Difference

In total, we sold 114 bags of AACR Roast and were able to donate a total of $228 to the AACR in our first attempt. Of course, this wouldn’t have been possible without our loyal customers, who continue to have faith in the coffees we produce. If not for your efforts in coming forward to purchase our unique AACR Roast for Research, all this wouldn’t have been possible.

Above all, we at Bean2Bean don’t want to limit ourselves to being just a coffee that you take from the shelf when your caffeine levels are dropping – we want to become a part of your everyday lives and be closer to the individuals we serve. Our efforts in cultivating homegrown artists and helping organizations like AACR are all aligned with this objective in mind. As long as you continue to enjoy our coffee, Bean2Bean will be able to continue to support these organizations.
